Warren Albert Bauer (96) of New Milford, NJ will be missed by his wife, daughters, family, neighbors, and friends. Born November 29, 1920 in Fort Lee, New Jersey; died peacefully at his home, January 28, 2017, in New Milford, New Jersey. Predeceased by his parents John V. and Theodosia (nee Fowler) Bauer; brothers John (Louise), Gilbert (Fern), Daniel (Mary); grandson James Alexander Taylor. Survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Agatha (nee Griffith); daughters Linda Taylor, Pamela Vasilik (John), Kathleen Muhimeister; grandchildren Chuck Taylor, Justin Bauer Vasilik (Deanna), Sarah Vasilik, Ann Muhlmeister; great-grandchildren Emma and Michael; numerous nephews and nieces. Warren proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, commencing with his induction in May, 1942. He trained in Fort Reilly, KS for a year before being assigned to combat duty in the South Pacific theatre. Attaining a rank of Staff Sergeant, he was awarded an honorable discharge in December, 1945. Upon returning from the Pacific, he raised his family in Bergenfield and, after years of employment at Lombi Ravioli & Food Machines Corp. and Frey Motors, Warren retired in New Milford where he enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Warren lived his life "lean and clean" and was devoted to his wife and family. He was revered as a pillar of strength for family and friends and was always available to assist others with projects and tasks..., big and small. Faithful, humble, honest, and generous are but a few character traits that Warren symbolized. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Saturday 9:45-10:45 AM with a funeral service at 10:15 AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly.
