He trained in Fort Reilly, KS for a year before being assigned to combat duty in the South Pacific theatre. Attaining a rank of Staff Sergeant, he was awarded an honorable discharge in December, 1945. Upon returning from the Pacific, he raised his family in Bergenfield and, after years of employment at Lombi Ravioli & Food Machines Corp. and Frey Motors, Warren retired in New Milford where he enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Warren lived his life "lean and clean" and was devoted to his wife and family. He was revered as a pillar of strength for family and friends and was always available to assist others with projects and tasks..., big and small. Faithful, humble, honest, and generous are but a few character traits that Warren symbolized. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So.
