Carol Defero

Carol Defero, age 67, of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away peacefully after a fierce battle with cancer on August 17, 2021. She is survived by her two daughters, Nicole, and Diane (and her husband, Paul) along with her longtime partner Donald Libonati. Carol  also leaves behind by her mother, Patricia Huber, sisters Diane (and her son, Eric), Linda (and her husband, Patrick), Laura (and her husband, Russ, as well as their children, Adam and Melissa), her brothers Frank and Michael Miller, close Relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her father Francis Miller and her brother John. Carol was known as a pioneer woman in the flooring industry. She loved the business and her clients with all her heart. She was a passionate home chef, an amazing baker and loved feeding everyone. She spent her free time with her family, a bottle of wine and her newest addition her puppy Pugsley. Carol also loved the NY Yankees, poker and when it was the first sign of summer she could be found on the water with Donald on his boat. We are heartbroken and will miss her dearly. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 3- 7pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield. Funeral service Saturday at 6:45pm. Cremation private.

Carol will be missed around the poker table. We had many laughs at Lindas with Her. I am honored to have been a friend of hers, in May when our son died Carol came to the service even though she was suffering, thats the type of friend she was. Heres to Carol and Patrick playing Jacks or better in heaven. Love and miss you

Carol was an absolute joy to be with. She was a grounded, loving, caring, funny member of our family and I will miss her terribly. She was so supportive of me during my pandemic pregnancy - making time for zoom calls, and buying everything left on our baby registry and sending us package after package of baby essentials. She also gave Everly a silver bracelet with her name engraved on it for her Baptism. The last time we saw her she held Everly for an hour and both looked so happy. I have loved every holiday we spent together, loved her hugs, her laugh, her thoughtful gifts, her knowing smerk - and of course her sausage bread. Sending deep love and condolences to the family for this enormous loss. Love you so much Carol.

Carol, you were our Flooring rep, but to me a good friend! It's pains me how we always made plans, and they never happened. I was so jealous when you retired, not realizing your were ill. I will miss you terribly. RIP
