Guestbook

Dear Uncle Al,

I knew this day was coming, but I was trying to avoid it. I suppose that's why I didn't make time to visit you since Arlene and I visited you so many years ago. I loved that you treated us to pizza at your favorite pizza parlor on Washington Avenue. I loved how the owner knew you as soon as we walked in the door. I loved how he treated you and your two nieces so warmly. I loved how he treated you like a king who had brought two princesses for a slice. We were definitely treated like princesses.

You have always treated me like a princess. You are the person who influenced me in my childhood by showing me by example that there is kindness and grace in the world. You are my favorite uncle. If I had been given a choice about who would be my father, I would choose you.

Thank you for being you. I am blessed to have had such a great role model.

Go now and take Arlene out for a slice in heaven. I'm sure you'll treat her like a princess.

I'll join you when I'm done doing whatever God has planned for me here.

Your Eternally Grateful Niece,

Dede
