Alice "Mickey" Mellay

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alice (Mickey) Mellay, who passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, at the age of 86.

She was born on July 13, 1940, and a lifelong resident of Bergenfield, New Jersey, where she built a life centered on love, family, kindness, and devotion to those around her. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones and creating cherished memories that will endure for generations.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Mellay; her children Janet and Michael Morelli, Eileen and Alex Rodriguez, Kathy Mellay, DJ and Leah Mellay; her cherished grandchildren Aleshia, Wade, Nicholas, Lauren, Sean, Matt, AJ, Samantha, Celeste, Sloane; and her great-grandchild, Kieran.

Alice's legacy of love, compassion, strength, and dedication to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She touched many lives through her kindness and will be remembered for the warmth she brought to every gathering and the unconditional love she shared with her family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield, New Jersey.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. at St. John's Church, 29 N. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, New Jersey.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
