Andronike Eftychiou

Andronike (Nike) Eftychiou peacefully passed away at the grand old age of 95 on April 20, 2018. Nike was born in Karavas, Cyprus in August of 1922 and arrived in the United States in December, 1950. Nike was predeceased by her husband Savas, her son Christos & her sisters, Maria Tsentas, Evelyn Haris, Vasilou Gemetta, Thespina Kozakou, Constantina Chokas, & most recently her twin sister, Christalou Koshiaris. Nike always kept her Cyprus & Greek family in her heart & kept in contact with many generations of nieces & nephews. Nike worked for over 30 years at Mark Knitting Mills in Bergenfield where she was affectionately known as Mama Nike. NIke was one of the original members of St. John the Theologian Cathedral in Tenafly, NJ. She was very dedicated and active in her parish as a member of the St. Philoptochos Society and enjoyed working and baking at the yearly Church festival.

Nike will be remembered by many & loved by all who knew this kind, generous lady whose faith & strength enabled her to raise three sons. Nike is survived by her two sons, Dino Eftychiou & his wife Victoria, grandsons Jonathon and his wife LeighAnne, Christopher and his wife Catherine, son Peter Eftychiou & his wife Regina, granddaughters Nicole and her husband Robert, Jennifer Eftychiou, Christina and her husband Nick & her special six great grandchildren Bobby & Olivia Post , Sophia & Caleb Eftychiou & Annabelle & Alexandre Eftychiou.

Services will be celebrated at St. John the Theologian Cathedral in Tenafly on April 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Visitation is at Riewerts Funeral Home on Washington Avenue in Bergenfield, NJ on Monday, April 23 from 4 - 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the St. John the Theologian Cathedral in Tenafly, NJ.
