Bertela Krivda

Krivda, (Betty) Bertela, (nee Moran) 83 of Bergenfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Andrew, her son Eric and daughter-in-law Nancy of Hackettstown, NJ, her daughters Donna Krivda of Bergenfield, Lori Krivda of Milford, CT, and Janice and son-in-law Jeff Kirby of Somers, CT. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Erica Krivda of Riverdale, NJ, and Adam and Alex Hinds of Somers, CT. Betty is predeceased by her twin sister Madeline Perusini. She was an avid reader and gardener, as well as a talented crafter and seamstress. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, "grandma" and "nana". The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to everyone who kept our family in their thoughts and prayers during these past several months. The family also wishes to convey its thanks to the exceptional staff at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center for their kindness, compassion and professionalism throughout Betty's illness. Also a very special thanks to Betty's nurse Danielle and VNA Hospice Care for helping us so she could be at home and surrounded by loved ones. We are so very grateful and truly blessed. Visitation will be on Friday, April 8 from 5pm to 8pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield NJ. Interment will be on Saturday, April 9 at 10:45 at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Rd, Township of Washington, NJ 07630. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty's memory to Englewood Hospital Foundation (englewoodhospitalfoundation.org)
