Bryan Kevin Bastian, born on November 2, 1955, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 at the age of 70. A devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, Bryan lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and quiet generosity. He is now reunited in the loving hands of God with his parents, Joan and William Bastian, and his beloved brother, Robert Bastian.
Bryan was deeply loved by his family, friends, and coworkers, and his presence will be missed immeasurably. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen & Kevin Brigley; his nephews and their wives, Joseph & Jessica Brigley, Andrew & Dana Brigley, and his niece and husband Kelly & George Cormane. Bryan is also cherished as a Great-Uncle who found immense joy spending time with his great-nieces and nephews, Charlotte, Caysen, and Vanessa.
Professionally, Bryan dedicated many years to his work as an X-ray technician, serving with care and professionalism at several esteemed medical facilities and hospitals before concluding his career at Northwell Health, where he was grateful to work alongside a truly wonderful group of colleagues.
Bryan had a deep love for Texas and its bluebonnets, treasured trips into the city for treats from Veniero’s Bakery, and found peace and inspiration during his many visits to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. His life was rooted in faith and devotion to the Church. Known as a phenomenal cook, Bryan delighted in sharing meals with those he loved. He also had a special bond with his parrot, Greystoke, who brought him daily companionship and joy.
Bryan’s life will be celebrated and honored at Riewerts Memorial Home on Monday, January 19, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at George Washington Park Cemetery.
Bryan will forever remain in our hearts and prayers. His faith, love, and gentle spirit will continue to guide those who knew him, and his memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
