Carol E. Blumeling

Carol E. Blumeling (nee Thunhorst) of Bergenfield, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015. Born and died in Englewood Hospital Medical Center. A loving wife of Charles H. F. Blumeling, III, mother of Charles IV, Gary, Katherine and Glen. Grandmother of Alison, Charles V, Christopher and Craig, her loving in-laws, Karen, Ammie and John and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Kay. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Catherine Thunhorst, granddaughter Cynthia and brother Herbert. She grew up in Leonia and graduated from Leonia High School, then went to work at Mutual of New York Life Insurance Company in New York City. After marriage she spent her early days in Leanon, NJ at the Round Valley Reservoir Project. After completion of the project she moved to Bergenfeld for the rest of her life. After raising her children she worked for the Ridgewood YWCA a teacher in the Small Fry Pre-K program until she could no longer work due to a physical injury. She loved her summer vacations in Sea Isle City on the Jersey Shore. She was a member of the Old South Presbyterian Church, Bergenfield and participated in may church groups and activities. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ and to a service of witness to the Resurrection in memory and celebration of the life of Carol E. Blumeling on October 10, 2015 at 10:30am at the Old South Presbyterian Church, 175 West Church Street, Bergenfield, with the interment to follow the service in The Old South Church cemetery at the rear of the church.
