Carol A Forrest

Carol A. Forrest (nee Goebel) of Dumont, NJ died peacefully surrounded by her family at 81 years of age on May 19, 2016. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Bill; her sister, Joan and loving husband, Tom. A devoted mother, she will be sorely missed by her children and their spouses; John & Kim, Tom & Mary Ann, Meg & Mike and Liz & Craig. She loved the time she spent with family and was especially proud of her grandchildren; Matthew, Brittney, Kaleigh, Sean, Daniel and Lita. She cherished her relationships with her sister Anne and her husband Fred, and their sons Bill and Fred, as well as the rest of her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Carol was a lifelong volunteer serving as PTA board member at Honiss School, Dumont HS and Bergen County, as well as president at Grant School, honored PTA lifetime member, Girl Scout leader, trainer and sat on their Bergen County board, Cub Scout leader and president of the Dumont HS Band Boosters. She was a veracious reader and thoroughly enjoyed her knitting, crosswords, needlework and Jeopardy up to her last day. Dancing in heaven now with her husband Tom, Carol's life will be celebrated by everyone she has touched along her path. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, Monday, 2-4 & 7-9pm. All will meet at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9, prior to the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, Haworth at 10. Interment Long Island National Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
