Charles E. Koegel, 93, of Lakewood formerly of Bergenfield passed away on March 9, 2015. Born in Hackensack, he grew up in Lakewood. Moving to Bergenfield in 1957 he moved to Leisure Village in Lakewood in 1998. He was a Supervisor for Western Electric in Kearny for 42 yrs. He was an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WWII. A Tech Sergeant with 5 stripes, he was an Engineer Gunner of B-17's while stationed in England as a member of the 367th Squadron of the 306 Bomber Group. He was a lifetime member of the Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge #1506 for 32 years and a member of the Italian American Club of Leisure Village since 2000. Devoted husband of the late Dorothy M. Koegel and close friend of Alfonsa Lanz. Beloved father of Dorothy L. Koegel and her companion Jack Burns and Charles E. Koegel and his wife Joan. Dear cousin of the late Henry Bremer. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are by Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.
