Charles John Quadri, Jr

Charles John Quadri, Jr. (Buzz), age 94, of Bergenfield, NJ (formerly of Alpine, NJ), died April 18, 2018. Born September 24, 1923 in New York City, to Charles John & Charlotte Hamilton Quadri. He graduated from Cliffside Park High School and Manhattan College, where he received an engineering degree. A navy veteran of WW II, he was a signalman aboard LST 389, participating in the D Day invasion of Normandy. Buzz was employed by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, & served as the Superintendent of the New Jersey section for over 30 years. He belonged to the Catholic War Vets, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He was also the liaison to the Palisades Nature Association and was a member of the United States LST Association. He coached and umpired in the Cresskill-Alpine Little League and served many years as a Eucharistic minister at St. Therese Catholic Church, Cresskill, where he was a parishioner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine Quadri Hourtal. Buzz is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Eleanor Villa Quadri, daughter Janet Quadri Rancan and her husband, Robert, of Cresskill, daughter Karen Quadri, of Bergenfield and son Paul, of Bergenfield. Buzz was an avid reader, a New York Yankees fan and a talented hobbyist/craftsman who created heirloom furniture and Christmas decorations in his basement workshop. There was nothing he could not repair. His gentle presence will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. Visiting on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mt.
