Duncan Tilghman Weaver

May 2, 1939 — January 19, 2014

Duncan Weaver, 74, of Bergenfield, was called home by our Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Beloved husband to Ruth Weaver (nee Colombo) for 51 years and devoted father of Duncan (Karen Sorrell), Merry Ostheimer (David), and Stewart (Jennifer). He was the cherished grandfather to Tristan, Griffin, Luci, Rory, Adam and Alex. Duncan was also a great animal lover and leaves his treasured kitties, Beau, Norris, and Belle. Duncan graduated from Teaneck High School in 1957, attended St. Lawrence University and earned his BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a certified public accountant and president of Dunruth Services, an accounting and tax preparation service, for 45 years. He worked tirelessly in the formation of the Bergenfield Swim Club and was one of the original presidents of the club. In addition to his children, grandchildren, family and many friends, his passions included gardening, classic movies, history and philately. Visitation will be Sunday, January 26 between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. Funeral service at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 am followed by burial at George Washington Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or C.A.T.S. (Caring About the Strays), Westwood, NJ.
