Elsa Gonzalez

Elsa Gonzalez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 88. Elsa was the adored wife of the late Jorge Gonzalez, mother to Elsa Adams, George Gonzalez, and Linda DiPaola (George), adored “Abuelita” to Stephanie Adams Ryan (Patrick), Elisa DiPaola, and George (Ayesha) and Michael (Libby) Gonzalez, great-grandmother to Selchar and Elas Ryan, Dima, Gen, Maya, and Hank Gonzalez, sister to 10 loving siblings, and beloved “Tia” and “Prima” to many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elsa selflessly dedicated her life to taking care of others. We can only hope to follow her example so that she can continue being proud of us from above. She taught all of us how to love “abuelita style”-- unconditionally and infinitely.  She stayed on this earth longer than most could because she wanted to be here for us, not for herself, but because she knew that her presence was still making our lives better and bringing everyone together. Her love will remain with all of us forever. Como ella decía con una sonrisa, “cuando yo me muero se van a recordar de mi.” Si, sentimos su amor mas fuerte que nunca.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11 AM at St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 29 N Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ, where she was a parishioner and founding member of the Spanish congregation.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer to honor Elsa’s absolute love for children and ask that contributions be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at the below link:

Elsa Gonzalez nació el 14 de Octubre del 1933 en Palmira, Colombia. Falleció el 21 de Febrero de 2022. Amada esposa del fallecido Jorge Gonzalez, madre de Elsa Adams, George Gonzalez y Linda DiPaola (George). Abuelita de Stephanie Adams Ryan (Patrick), Elisa DiPaola, George (Ayesha) y Michael (Libby) Gonzalez, Bisabuela de Selchar y Elas Ryan (en honor a su nombre), Dima, Gen, Maya y Hank Gonzalez. Formo parte de una gran familia de 10 hermanos,  adorada tia, prima y amiga.

Elsa dedicó su vida desinteresadamente a otros. Esperamos seguir su ejemplo y que desde el cielo se sienta orgullosa.

Se quedo en este mundo dejando una huella para todos los que la conocieron. Sabia que su presencia aportaba valor para sus vidas. Nos enseñó cómo amar a su “estilo abuelita”, incondicionalmente e infinito. Su amor permanecerá entre nuestra famila para siempre. Como ella decía con una sonrisa, “cuando yo me muero se van a recordar de mi.” Si, sentimos su amor mas fuerte que nunca.

Servicio memorial, Sabado 5 de Marzo de 2022 11:00 am lugar St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church donde ella fue una de las fundadoras de la misa hispana. 

En vez de flores la familia desea en honor a Elsa se hagan donaciones a St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital ya que su pasion fue siempre ayudar a los niños.
