Emilio Cammalleri of Haworth passed away on May 9, 2021. Beloved husband of Claudette Cammalleri. Loving father of Rosaria Parisi and her husband Mike, Angela Sluyter and her husband Scott, Francesca Glass and her husband Anthony, Roberto “Tino” Cammalleri and his wife Jennifer, Maria Colon and her husband Nelson, and Antonio “Nino” Cammalleri and his wife Elsa. Dear brother of Aldo and the late Renato Cammalleri. Cherished grandfather of Vincent, Sara, Nicholas, Ariana, Zachary, Alexa, Julia, Max, Roberto, Gabriella, Sofia, Olivia, Emma, Isabella, Lily, Mia, Matteo, and Enzo and great grandfather of Emilia, Sarah, and Lucy. Emilio came to the United States from Sicily as a young man. After meeting the LOVE OF HIS LIFE by offering her a Lifesaver candy at the Oritani movie theater in Hackensack one winter night in 1959, he decided to start a new life with Claudette in this country. Emilio was a lifelong entrepreneur, business owner, realtor, soccer coach and referee. He was known by many in the community as the owner and operator of Emilio’s Hair Studio in Bergenfield. However, his greatest legacy was being the patriarch of a beautiful family built on the foundation of the unwavering love, dedication and hard work that Emilio embodied. He often spoke of his many “Treasures” - his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All that knew him experienced his larger than life personality, and kindness in some way. Visiting hours at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:00PM. Cremation will be private.
