Estela G Viray

Estela G. “Ima” Viray, 90 years old, passed away peacefully at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ. She was surrounded by her beloved family. Ima was born on March 19, 1929 in the Philippines.
Ima was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Timoteo S. Viray. She is survived by her children Felixberto, Zenaida, Edelmira, Elvira, Emelita, Elisa, Jesus and Timoteo JR. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She worked as a teacher in a public school located in the province of Pampanga, Philippines until 2007 when she moved to the United States.

A woman of generosity and faith, Ima lived a fruitful and simple life. It didn’t take much to please her. Being in the presence of family, friends, and the Lord was enough. She also enjoyed gardening and admiring the flowers around her. She had a laugh that was highly contagious and her kisses consumed you with love and care. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Christian. She will be missed abundantly. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday April 8, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. A funeral mass will be celebrated in memory of Estela on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 29 N Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 425 Engle Street, Englewood, NJ 07631.
