Evelyn E. Kunz

Evelyn E. Baggott, Kunz 96, of Bergenfield and Richmond, VA passed away peacefully on July 22, 2017. She was born on May 21, 1921 in Jersey City, N.J. and was blessed with a long, happy life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Andrew H. Kunz, former Chief of the Bergenfield Fire Department. She was also predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Harry Baggott, two brothers, Melvin C. Baggott and Harry C. Baggott, Jr. and several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law. Evelyn lived her first 30 years in Hudson County, growing up and graduating from Emerson High School where she met her future husband Andy. The couple lived in Hoboken before moving to Bergenfield in 1951. She always considered Bergenfield her home and truly loved the time she spent with family and friends in town, including those in the BFD, CWC, Clinton Ave. Reformed Church, NARFE, and other community associations. She worked in the insurance industry for a number of years in Englewood and in Bergenfield. After retiring, she and Andy spent many enjoyable hours at their "up-the-country" house near Stone Ridge, New York. Survivors include her daughter Janet Lynn Cichewicz, her son-in-law Alan Cichewicz, beloved granddaughters Amy Cichewicz, Diana Cichewicz McKinney (Donny), and great-grandson Alex. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ with a funeral service at 8:30 pm.

A private graveside service will follow Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clinton Avenue Reformed Church, 58 James Street, Bergenfield, NJ 07621 or to a favorite charity.
