Ferdinand J. Jacobsen Jr., 92, of Bergenfield passed away on December 8, 2014. Born in Bergenfield, he graduated from St. Cecelia H.S. and Pace University. An Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, he was an Accountant for the New York Central/Penn Central Railroad and Con Edison. Ferdinand was very active in St. John's Council #1345 of the Knights of Columbus in Dumont as a past Grand Knight and 4th Degree member. As a dedicated parishioner, he served in many capacities at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Bergenfield. Devoted husband of Janet Jacobsen (nee Belknap). Beloved father of James M.(Linda) of Saddle Brook, Charles M.(Linda) of New Port Ritchie, FL, Gail M. (Paul Sadowski)of Hampton and Suzanne L. (Dr. Robert Amitrano) of New Milford. Loving grandfather of Derek E. Jacobsen, Stephen and Samantha Jacobsen, and Robert Amitrano and great grandfather of Ellery. Dear brother of Eugene and the late Jane Marie, Leona, Abigel, and William. Visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10 AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villa Marie Claire Hospice 12 West Saddle River Rd., Saddle River, NJ 07458 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
