George A. Gonzalez

Pioneer in secondary education and retired school teacher and administrator George Gonzalez passed away on September 6, 2022 at the age of 68 from an automobile accident.

George immigrated to the United States in 1979 from Colombia and began a rewarding career in helping shape the minds of a generation of students as one of the founders of Bergen County Academies in 1991, as well as other institutions of learning abroad.

George is survived by his wife, Maria, sons George and Michael, grandchildren Maya and Hank, as well as his sisters Elsa and Linda.

A memorial service will be held Monday September 12th, from 4-8pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
