Gina Rose Terese Halasnik
Gina Rose Terese Halasnik, 53, left the world suddenly on September 14, 2021 in Kinnelon, NJ where she resided with her husband Stephen, children Michael and Maxwell, and their dog Pumpkin.Gina lived her life passionately and was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She adored traveling and planned numerous trips for her family, most recently to South Dakota and Colorado in July 2021. There were also many other family trips and cruises she planned in the United States as well as Europe. Born on October 31, Halloween was her favorite holiday and she loved to dress up in costume and lavishly decorate her home for that day. Gina also had a flair for fashion, enjoyed trivia nights and cherished gatherings with her large circle of friends whether it be a luncheon, night on the town, or entertaining in her home.A graduate of Rutgers University with a B.S. in Accounting and Fairleigh Dickenson with a M.S. in Accountancy, Gina worked in various business settings over the years while raising her family. Gina and her husband, also a Rutgers graduate, were proud alumni season ticket holders and enjoyed many Rutgers football games with their family.
Gina had a remarkable gift of connecting with those around her. She had a vibrant and warm personality and could talk to anyone. Her presence burned brightly, and she will be missed by her close-knit immediate and extended family, and friends from her childhood, college days, neighborhood, and community.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen, children, Michael and Maxwell, mother Rosemary Garella, brother Dean Garella (Peggy), brother Mark (Anne), sister-in-law Michele Mueller (Jeff), sister-in-law Denise Haines (John) and innumerable family members and friends that will forever feel her loss. She is predeceased by her father Hugo Garella.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, September 18 from 10:30am-11:30am at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. Services will follow at 12:00pm at St. John’s The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church at 29 North Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
