Helen C. Donahue

Helen Catherine "Mama" Donahue, who loved all and was loved by all, went home to be with Jesus on April 10, 2015. She fought hard to stay with her cherished family until it was time for true rest and peace. She was "29." Mama was born to Albert and Christina Anderson on April 12, 1928. She graduated from Cliffside Park HS in 1946 and worked at Met Life in NYC before meeting her soon-to-be husband at a diner. She married Robert "Bebo" Donahue on May 31, 1952. Their marriage brought seven beautiful children into the world. In 1959, Mama and Bob moved into a home on Tryon Ave. in Teaneck to raise their children. Mama never wanted to move from her home, and her kids honored this wish. Her spunky and fun-loving spirit brought her through many of life's challenges and triumphs. Mama's signature phrases and contagious laugh will not soon be forgotten. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gina, her son Tom and wife Marilyn, her daughter Susan and husband Scott, her son Kevin and wife Carolyn, her daughter Robin and husband Scott, her daughter Judy and husband Danny. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Christina, Robert, Melissa, Tom, Katie, Amy, David, Christine, Alyssa, Kevin, Sean, Audrey, Erin, Jonathan, Kimberly, Kevin, Cassie, Gabriel, Josiah and Elijah, and spouses. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Arielle, Sam, Jax, Davin, Tyler, Conner, Hunter, Emily, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob, cherished daughter, Karen and her devoted son, Bob. A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, and funeral services will be at 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, both at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ. Interment at Cresr Haven Memorial Park in Clifton.
