February 2, 1940 - June 21, 2024

Ignacio “Jun” S. Imperial Jr. of Bergenfield, NJ, formerly of Jamaica Hills, NY and Manhattan, NY, passed away on June 21, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old.

Jun was born on February 2, 1940 in Manila, Philippines to Ignacio Imperial Sr. and Lourdes Imperial. He was one of nine children. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was in the Philippine Merchant Marines before immigrating to the United States. He worked at and later retired from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He dedicated his life to his family, enjoyed traveling, cooking, and watching boxing and wrestling matches.

Survived by his devoted and beloved wife, Virginia Imperial (nee Mendoza), his daughter, Cecile Imperial Cortez (Anthony), and his son, Alan Imperial, and his grandchildren, Alyssa Joy, Christopher Ryan, Alexandra Jade, and Alianna Jolie Cortez; his sisters Nora Gallofin, and Elsa Gonzales (Vidal); and many more relatives.

Jun was known for his kindness and fun. He loved to dance and garden. He touched the lives of others with his zest for life and caring ways. Loved by many, Ignacio “Jun” Imperial Jr. made a lasting impression on the lives of others and will be dearly missed.

Visitation services to be held on July 1, 2024 at Riewerts Memorial Home 187 South Washington Avenue in Bergenfield, NJ from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. A funeral Mass will be held on July 2, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church 29 N Washington Avenue Bergenfield, NJ at 10am. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery 179 Hackensack Ave. Hackensack, NJ will begin at 11:30am.
