Jack L. Sullivan, 90, of New Milford, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him, Jack was a man whose love for others was as enduring as the love they felt for him.
Born in 1934 in Manhattan, New York, to Charles and Anna Sullivan, Jack spent his early years in Washington Heights before his family settled in Bergenfield, New Jersey, in 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Patricia. He is survived by his children, Karen and Thomas; his cherished grandchildren, Robert and Kelley; and his younger brother, Chuck.
After graduating high school, Jack began his career in an office setting but soon discovered it wasn’t the path for him. Determined to follow his own direction, he went on to own and operate his own business for more than 60 years. In 1972, Jack married Pat in a small, intimate ceremony that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership.
One of the greatest joys of Jack’s life was becoming a grandfather. He welcomed his first grandchild, Robert, in 1992, and his second, Kelley—born on Jack’s own birthday—in 1995. He treasured their time together, often taking them on adventures and creating lasting memories.
In his later years, Jack found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: enjoying lunch with friends, sipping a Budweiser from the bottle, reading the paper over coffee at his favorite morning shop, cheering for his Yankees, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Visiting will be held at Riewerts Memorial Home on Friday September 12th from 2-8pm.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, at St. Joseph’s Church in Oradell, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jack’s memory.
