Jim Harrington was my neighbor when I lived in Cresskill. I knew him a little better than casually and that wasn't until he retired and would do his daily exercise of walking up and down Morningside Avenue. He was somewhat shy, I thought, and a real nice guy, very polite and obliging. I couldn't help but like him. I also enjoyed his Irish phraseologies. We talked a little whenever we met. The last time I saw him (and Mrs. Harrington who I understand passed 7 years) they were having a garage sale. That gave us a little time to talk but Martina (wife) and I were leaving town shortly after. And he lived until age 96 - wow what a feat. I hope his final years went well for him. So to his family members I say that I am sorry about your loss. Having lost my own father & mother, I think in some way, I know how you feel at the moment. Please accept my deepest sympathy during this period of bereavement.
