James Robert Mulligan

James Robert Mulligan of Bergenfield passed away on December 27, 2017. Loving husband of the late Marie Mulligan. Beloved father of Dennis, Glenn, Terrance, Maureen Molfetas, James, Michael, the late Kevin and Patricia DiStasio. Dear brother of the late Joseph, Anne, Margaret, Juell, and Rosellen. Cherished grandfather of 22 and great grandfather of 21. James was a proud World War II Veteran in the Navy serving in Iwo Jima, Okinawa, the Volcano Islands, Seychelles Islands, Philippines and was a guard on President Roosevelts Train. A long time parishioner of Church of the Ascnesion for 55 years he was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus Council 6189. He was a crossing guard for many years for the Bergenfield Police Department. Visiting Monday 3-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 AM for the Funeral Mass at Church of the Ascension, New Milford at 9:30 AM. Interment Westwood Cemetery, Westwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the VA www.volunteer.va.gov/apps/VolunteerNow/.
