John M. Canning, Jr

John M. Canning, Jr. lovingly known as "Cannon", 81, of Dumont died on January 11, 2014. John and his wife Marlene (and her twin sister) Barbara Viviano traveled and did everything together. Born in Yonkers, NY he was a Traffic Analyst for Unilever in Englewood Cliffs. A Navy veteran of the Korean War he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Cresskill, NJ and Yonkers, NY. Devoted husband of Marlene Canning (nee Guidice). Beloved father of John and the late Maureen, Robert and Clifford Canning. Dear brother of Sabina Whitney, Joan Pannullo, June Leggardo and Carol Liberati. Loving grandfather of Michele, Robyn, Christopher, Christie and Nicholas. Visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Dumont at 10 AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly.
