John W. Gorman, of Bergenfield died on Valentine’s Day at the age of 84. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a resident of Bergenfield, NJ for several decades. Mr. Gorman was a proud union typesetter and graphic designer. He was Shop Foreman of the New York Law Journal and the National Law Journal. After retirement, he took over the production of “Strawberry Fields,” the monthly newsletter, of the Garden Club of Bergenfield. Husband of the late Margaret Kearns and Linda Mohr. Father and father-in-law of John and Irene Gorman, the late Patricia Johnson and Edward Johnson, Peggy and Yamid Medina, Michael Gorman and Stefanie Berns, Timothy and Anya Gorman, Jo Ann and Kevin Cary, and Terri Anne Gorman. Grandfather of Kevin Patrick Cary, Matthew Sean Gorman, Alexis Lyn Murry, Robin Richard Murry, Storm Medina, River Gorman, Yamid Medina, Lisa Cary and Nicole Muzii, great grandfather of Charlotte Fisher.
Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 29 N Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ on Saturday at 10 AM followed by entombment at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. John Evangelist RC Church’s Food Pantry, 29 North Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
