John, 84, passed away on February 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. He will be remembered for the steady presence he brought to those around him and for the deep pride he took in his family. John was a graduate of Bergenfield High School, Class of 1959, and proudly organized class reunions over the years. He also graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and went on to have a successful career as a senior operations executive in the plumbing and heating industry. John was also a proud U.S. Army veteran.

John was active in his community as a member of the American Legion and Senior Club, and also served on the Bergenfield Board of Health and the Bergenfield Mayor’s Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.

He is survived by his wife, Linda. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia., and their four children: Jeanne (and husband Bob), Karen (and husband Tim), Michelle (and husband Bob), and Bill (and wife Nicole). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him tremendous joy.

John’s life was defined by devotion—to his family, to his values, to his church, and to his community. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and Fantasy Football, a passion he enjoyed with family. He also loved the beach, specifically Ship Bottom, NJ on LBI. His kindness, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A private family celebration will be held at Riewerts Memorial Home. In honoring John’s memory, the family encourages loved ones to cherish the moments shared with him and the many ways he enriched the lives around him.
