What a joy to have know Joe. Regretfully, we are in Florida so we couldn't pay our respects at the funeral. His service to our country, commitment to Bergenfield and his service to the Lion's Club have made Bergenfield a better place to live. We were bless to see him at Saint John's Church before we went south earlier this month. Joe will be remember in our prayers. Eva and Bob Gallione

Mr. Johnson was a wonderful man who led by example. He was a great community activist, a wonderful family man and just a kind, loving soul. I was fortunate to have him around through my childhood and into my adulthood. He had a love of life and a strong sense of purpose. You always knew this guy would do the right thing because he was a man of high integrity. God bless him. He made the world a better place and the people who love him will continue to serve in his spirit.

Getting to know Joe over the last year was a privilege. We would spend two hours together a week working out at the gym and I always felt in such good spirits afterwards. Joe had great life experience and great stories to go with it. He was a gentleman and had a lovely outlook on life. I felt an instant bond with Joe, both being of irish heritage. We loved to chat about the 'homeland'. I will miss Joe a lot. He was a very special man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He loved them dearly and was such a proud man
