Joseph George Petrellese

Joseph Petrellese passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024 with family by his side. Beloved husband of 60 years to Marie Petrellese (Laudanno). Cherished son of the late Dominick and Louise. Devoted Dad to Joseph (Chris), Michael (Cammy) and the late JoAnn. An extremely proud Poppy to Kevin (Paige), Keith, Samantha, Alexa and Jake. Dear Brother to Rocco (Jackie), Lorraine (Nicky) and Dominick (Julie). Cherished Uncle, Cousin and Friend.

Joseph coached all three of his children in sports throughout their childhood and could recite every play, every score and every win or loss for every game. He is remembered fondly in Bergenfield by many baseball and soccer players who he continued to coach for 25 years in the Police Athletic League. He was happiest spending time with his family and talking sports. His grandkids adored him. He was always ready with a joke and a funny story about his childhood in the Bronx. 

Joseph will be forever missed and loved but we know he will continue to cheer on his family and his beloved sports teams (Yankees, Knicks, Rangers and Giants) from the best seat in the house.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to the MS Society at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.
