Leoncia C. Porter

Leoncia Porter, also known as Lee Porter, Executive Director (Emeritus) of the Fair Housing Council of Northern New Jersey passed away on Sunday, July 20th. Lee was 98 years old, born November 30 , 1926 in Brooklyn , NY. She had dedicated a good portion of her life to fair housing , civil rights, equal access and rights for women. She was a great example for us due to her dedication to family and legacies, “no fear” to a challenge or status quo. She enjoyed the beach, travel abroad, grandkids; she was a news junkie and enjoyed intelligent conversation. Lee joins her husband, Richard W. Porter Sr. who predeceased her. She is survived by: her children: Leoncia Porter, Leslie Porter-Cabell (Curtis), and Richard Porter Jr. ; grandchildren: Corrine Stepney, Samuel Stepney, Christina Stepney, and Krystal Porter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
