Lilia M. Angeles

December 2, 1930 — January 16, 2021

Lilia Angeles, born on December 2, 1930, returned to her heavenly home on January 16, 2021. Her devotion to her family, firm belief in God and indefinite support ultimately led her to peace.

Her final days were spent surrounded by family. Lilia’s family was something she cherished and took pride in. She left an extraordinary touching mark on her entire family throughout her memorable life.

She will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Janet Chua, son-in-law, Geminiano Aniciete, and grandchildren, Joanna Marie Aniciete and her husband, Kenneth Wise, Jemilyn Aniciete and Jeremy Aniciete, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Predeceased by her daughters, Jeanette Chua and most recently, Josephine Aniciete, her sisters, Nelly and Lorna Angeles, her husband, Antonio Chua, and her parents, Diosdado Angeles and Margareth Magluyan.

Lilia was born in Bacolod City, Philippines. While living in the Philippines, she spent many years working for a family-owned business as a tailor and seamstress. In April 1978, her beloved husband passed away, leaving her to raise her two daughters successfully on her own. In 1990, she moved to NJ to live with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and dedicated all of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family, especially her grandchildren. She doted on her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by her large brood.

Lilia had a contagiously sweet smile that could light up a room. She lived her life through simple pleasures. She enjoyed attending Sunshine Adult Day Healthcare Center, going to the movies, spending hours completing "Find-A-Word" puzzles, spending time with her family pets, and watching Filipino soap opera.

Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that captured trust and hearts of many. She constantly practiced and provided nurturing, love and faith values within herself and others. Her persistent smile, laugh and pleasurable sense of humor allowed her to have a signature gift of joy, which will never be forgotten.
