Margaret D. Capone

July 20, 1922 — August 29, 2020

Margaret Capone, of New Milford, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2020. She was born in Palisades Park, NJ to Carrie and Michael Severino. She lived in Palisades Park until her marriage to Victor J. Capone Sr., on May 19, 1956, who preceded her death in 1977. She was predeceased by her three siblings, Ann Jaeger, Vincent Severino and Floyd Severino. She is the loving and devoted mother of Victor, Charles and Dolores and mother-in-law to Florence. She is also the loving grandmother of Nicole Capone, Christine and Terry McMackin and their daughter Paige. She was surrounded by her loved ones throughout her final days.

Margaret worked in New York City before she was married and once her children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper. But most of all Margaret was a dedicated mother. She raised three children by herself after her husband's death in 1977. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed trips to Italy, France and Alaska with her daughter, rooting for the Yankees with her son Charles (or Chuck), and the many family gatherings at her son Victor's house. After she couldn't travel as much, she enjoyed taking car rides with Dolores and Chuck.

She also cherished her times with her extended family and friends including visits with her sister-in-law Eleanor and her niece Maria. She enjoyed golfing with her friends, she loved music and she was thrilled to see her favorite opera singer (Luciano Pavarotti) at Lincoln Center as well as seeing Tony Bennett at Radio City. She was an avid reader and enjoyed red wine and cooking. And if you asked Margaret what her age was, she would still tell you she was 39!!!

Everyone that knew Margaret will miss her greatly and will cherish the wonderful memories.
