Margaret Murphy

Margaret Mary Murphy (nee Burke) of Cresskill passed away on May 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in County Mayo, Ireland.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Patrick Murphy. The loving mother of Maureen Zoch and her husband Peter, Anne Marie Rutkowski and her husband Jeff, Claire Fahy and her husband Patrick, Colette Dunn and her husband Thomas.

She was a proud grandmother to Erin, Krystie, Conor, Patrick, Kerry Anne, Jeffrey, Mairead, Tara, Thomas and Ryan.

A great-grandmother to Finley, Reese, Hailey, Logan, Warren and Reagan.

Devoted sister to Peter, Thomas, Bernadette, Timothy, Jenny and Michael. Predeceased by her sister Bridget.

Margaret will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her love of Irish music and dance. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Visiting will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield. Family and friends will gather Friday for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
