Marie E. Miller (nee Hewitt), 88, of Bergenfield passed away on January 31, 2015. Marie was born in Clearfield, PA on August 14, 1926 to George and Vivian Hewitt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Clifford Miller and daughter and son-in-law Annie and Bob Gould, brothers George, Clark, and Joseph Hewitt. Beloved mother of Janice V., William James (Jimmy) and his wife Mary, Robert and his wife Marla, Michael and Roger Miller. Loving grandmother of Teresa Monahan (Stephen), Laura Gould (Mike Sheehan), Brett Miller (Kelly), Amy Fontenot (Clint), Jessica Cooley, Ruth Marie Miller and James Miller and great grandmother of 9. Dear sister of Priscilla Schwenck, Florence Bruno, Ronald and Louis Hewitt. Also many loving nieces and nephews and a very special "daughter" Debbie Knoeller. She worked for Englewood Public School System from 1977 to 1990. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bergenfield where she taught catechism for many years. Marie was always a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her family and friends know her as a very generous person and a wonderful cook and baker. She made sure everyone had something to eat when they were in her home. Her door was always open to all who knew her. Her children, grandchildren and friends flocked to her home for her "famous" chicken and rice. She was always full of great advice and encouragement. Marie was loved by many. She will be greatly missed. Visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9am for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10am. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MDA Organization or Valley Hospice.
