Patricia Fitzmaurice

Patricia Fitzmaurice (Maye) of Bergenfield, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 6, 2025 at the age of 90. Patricia, fondly known as “Patsy” was born in the Bronx to Thomas and Mary Maye. She is survived by her children: John (Jack) Fitzmaurice and his wife Valerie, Robert Fitzmaurice and his wife Pat, Maureen Portlock (Fitzmaurice) and her husband Jack, Catherine Cordes (Fitzmaurice), Eileen Fitzmaurice, and her son-in-law John. Patsy is predeceased by her loving husband John Fitzmaurice, her precious daughter Patricia Rubinetti (Fitzmaurice), and her beloved sisters Nora, Mary, Bridget, and Eileen. Patsy was “Nanny” to her fourteen grandchildren; Erin, Meagan, Ian, Jaki, Niki, Danny, JJ, Vinnie, Brielle, Mia, Sean, Michael, Christopher and Michaela, and “Granny” to her six great-grandchildren Olivia, Cole, Nora, Maddy, and Shane. She loved her 30 nieces and nephews dearly. Patsy dedicated her life to raising her family. She treasured her faith, loved to dance, was a fierce competitor at family games and always said that her greatest joy in life was “To see those I love happy”. Patsy enjoyed staying current with the times, posting on social media and texting her loved ones, following fashion trends, watching her beloved Yankees, listening to Michael Buble, and shopping! She never….ever… forgot a birthday. Patsy will be remembered for her laugh, her quick wit, her strength, zest for life and the love of her family.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 15th at Riewerts Memorial Home in Bergenfield (4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.) and a funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church on Wednesday, July 16th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Community Food Bank of NJ, or Karen Anne Quinlan Hospice.
