Patricia A. Lutz

Patricia "Pat" Petelchuk Lutz, age 78, of Bergenfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025. Pat served as librarian, teacher, and administrator at Bergenfield school district for nearly 40 years, where she made a profound impact on future generations as she shared her love for learning and books.

Pat was happily married to George Lutz for 39 years highlighted by many enjoyable trips, traveling around the world together and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Pat was life long Orthodox Christian, and her faith shaped her servant’s heart, caring for family, friends and those she just met. Pat was an incredible musician, and at church, her strong and beautiful alto voice was an addition to any choir. Pat was a highly talented, avid quilter who created exceptional heirlooms for her family, friends and people in need. She is survived by her loving husband George, her stepdaughters Lorie (Stephen), Jamie Fronheiser (William) and her grandsons William and Luke (Jessica and great granddaughter Isabella), with all of whom she played an important role in raising. Pat’s extended family includes her sisters Paula Booten (Don) and son Kyle, and Pamela Costa (Sam) and sons Mario, Jeremy, and Paul; her Aunt Millie Cheplick; and godchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat cherished her relationships with all her family, friends and neighbors. Visitation will be this Thursday, May 22, 4 to 8 pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, Inc. in Bergenfield. Funeral service will be 9 am on Friday, May 23 at Holy Apostle Eastern Orthodox Church 17 Platt Ave., Saddle Brook, NJ. Interment to follow at Washington Cemetery in Paramus.
