Robert "Bob" Fallon was a fine human being in almost every way one can think. I have known Bob for over 30 years and he was my friend and trusted colleague. Bob did hard service for our country in Vietnam. How the forces that shape our lives is still a bit of a mystery. When I first met Bob he was a new MSW from Fordham. We both did mental heath and substance abuse work. We made a connection that lasted for many years. Bob worked with me at my practice and he provided therapy to many, many (perhaps 500) people afflicted with substance abuse. He helped people with a combination of compassion and reality mixed with his professional training. Bob had a compassionate, realistic understanding of many of life's hardships and this was a strength for him, his patients and those who knew him. It was not easy work but he thrived, helping many lost individuals in the process. . On a personal level he remained upbeat with his many health problems. Over the years and he was always a good friend, colleague and listener. He reputation is the Bergen County substance abuse treatment community was very positive. I will miss him very much.

I was saddened when I read today's obituary page. I worked with Bob many years ago. He was a wonderful person with the greatest sense of humor. We would always yell "Cancun". May he rest with the angels.

To one of the best friends I have had. You are unselfish, giving and one of the best people I know. I am so sorry that you and Bob had to go through such hard times, but there were plenty of good times too. Please remember the good times. May you have the strength to overcome all your sadness. I am sure that Magnolia will be your best comfort. If you need anything at all, please know that I will be there for you as you always were there for me. You are very much loved by all. Love, Debbie
