Roseanne Theresa Lewie

Roseanne Theresa Lewie, of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away on October 28, 2018. She was born to Ralph S. Lewie, Sr. and Rosibel (Duarte) on December 2, 1949. She was the oldest of four children and survived by her three brothers Ralph Jr., Alfred, and Andrew Lewie, two sisters-in-law, twenty-four nieces and nephews, and twenty-one great nieces and nephews. Roseanne was a long time teacher for the New York City Public Schools, specializing in Special Needs Education and English as a Second Language, and thoroughly enjoyed teaching her students. She had volunteered for many years at Holy Name Hospital and was an active parishioner and member of many organizations at Saint John’s Roman Catholic Church in Bergenfield, NJ. She had a passion for people, a sweet and kind spirit, and a deep love for her family. Roseanne will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 29 N Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621, at 10 AM. Following the service, her body will be laid to rest at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
