Socorro L. Anora

Socorro "Monette" Ladera Anora, 69, of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away peacefully and pain free at home on November 7, 2022 surrounded by family and friends after a 3 year fight with cancer.

Monette was born on July 28, 1953 in Ubay, Philippines to Bienvenido Ladera and Flores Ladera. She received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and provided for her family by coming to the US, and made the bold and brave decision leaving her 4 month old son back home along with her daughter and husband that pioneered the way for her family to join her in the US. 

In 2018, Monette retired and spent her time traveling, spending time with her family, her granddaughter, and her most loving and caring friends. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, singing, baking, collecting designer bags (she had quite the collection), mahjong, dancing and gardening. Let's not forget she occasionally enjoyed the slot machines! 

Monette is preceded in death by her parents, and her 2 brothers, Edgardo Reyes Ladera and Oscar Reyes Ladera. Monette is survived by her husband, Delfin "Boy", her daughter Doreen, her son Delmarc, her granddaughter, Calista and her oldest brother, Aleazer Ladera. 

Monette was kind to many. Her beautiful garden gave us all comfort and her cooking/baking kept us full and happy. She will be deeply missed. Heaven gained another angel with our Mom. 

We will never forget how much she has sacrificed for her family. We will never forget everything she has done for us. We love you, Mom. Thank you for everything. 

Visiting at Riewers Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ on Friday from 3pm-8pm. There will be a funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 29 N. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ on Saturday at 10am followed by a private cremation.
