Sr. Nora Lohan

Sr. Nora Lohan 74 of Tenafly, passed away May 29, 2018. Born in Newbridge, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland, Sr. Nora entered the Missionary Franciscan Sisters on October 10, 1959. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY and went on to receive her Master’s Degree from St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY. She received a certificate in Administration-Education from Manhattan College, NY. Her primary ministry in her religious life has been in education. She taught in schools in Philadelphia; Binghamton, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Yonkers, NY; Union City, NJ; and St. John’s, Bergenfield, NJ. Sr. Nora held the position of Principal in St. Ann’s School, Yonkers, NY from 1982 - 1987 and in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School from 1995 - 2000. From 2002 - 2007, Sr. Nora served as Administrator of the Infirmary at Our Lady of the Angels Convent, Tenafly. She served in Parish Ministry in Newton, MA from 1987 - 1991 and in Our Lady of Mount Carmel from 2007 - 2015. Visiting hours for Sr. Nora will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Tenafly, Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 6:30 -8:30pm, followed by  the Mass of the Resurrection, Monday, June 4, 2018, 9:30am. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
