Stephen Roy Scrivani

Beloved son of the late Edward and Hjordis Scrivani. Taken by complications of Alzheimer’s in Naples, Florida. He is survived by his brothers Richard and Douglas, niece and nephew Kathy and Edward, two sisters in law and six cousins. Steve relocated from Stony Brook, Long Island to Naples in 1986 where he owned and ran his own gift shop for many years. He had a special fondness for animals and cared for a long line of collies for over six decades. Everyone who knew him will remember his warmth and generosity of spirit, kindness, understanding and support. One could not have asked for a better brother.
Visiting at Riewert's Memorial Home on Februrary 10, 2022 from 10-11am followed by funeral service at 11am. Interment at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack NJ.

Guestbook

I'm deeply saddened by Steve's passing. I knew Steve through our association with Collie Rescue. Steve and I shared many many e-mails , sharing our interests. Also many phone conversations about our love for the Collie breed, and life in general. He was always there to help when a Collie was in need. Indeed, he gave loving homes to several beautiful Collies that were no longer wanted. He had some reservations about taking the younger Collies, as he feared he would not be able to care for them due to his health concerns. However, I have no doubt these Collies brought him much affection and joy. Steve will be dearly missed. All in the Collie Rescue world, who knew Steve feel a great sense of loss.

My dear brother-in-law, Steve, was a light in my life, a true friend who gave great advice and always made me laugh. We shared so many adventures on our many trips into Manhattan--Broadway shows, street fairs, museums, parades--we did it all. He loved The City and all it had to offer. Steve collected collie figurines, and we scoured flea markets in New York, NJ, PA and Fl in search of new finds. He was a lifelong contributor to non-profits that assisted animals and a member of Collie Rescue. I will miss him terribly, but there is consolation in knowing he is no longer confused and frightened. I will think of him fully restored and together again with parents, his beloved family members who passed on before him, and all the beautiful rough coated collies he cared for and treasured in his lifetime. Farewell, my friend.
