Sylvia Sharlene Guiliano

February 14, 1938 — December 7, 2018

Sylvia Sharelene Guiliano from Ellenville, NY died peacefully on Dec 7, 2018 in Englewood Hospital, NJ surrounded by her loving family.  Sylvia was born on Feb 14, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent the past 36 years living in the Village she loved with her husband Anthony and their son Marcus and his family.    

Sylvia was very positive, unique, good hearted person, active in the community and you could always find her around town talking to someone.  She spent many years working in hospitality in the local hotels and when she was not working she spent her time sewing, playing the organ in church, knitting, crocheting, and designing clothes.  She always loved playing the piano for sing-alongs and for fun. Volunteering at the Reformed Church Thrift Shop was another one of her many passions along with her love for her pets. On any given day Sylvia could be seen fashioning one of her many hats.  Two of her favorite sayings were “Be a somebody, not a nobody” and “Dear Heart”. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years Anthony Guiliano; a son Marcus Guiliano and wife Jamie; two grandchildren Courtney and Justin who she adored; son Aaron Kozloski and wife Lynn; grandchildren Christopher and wife Jamie, David and wife Erin and Josh and wife Tara In addition, 3 other sons and their families; Sisters Sharon and Karren from Oklahoma; Her sister in laws and brother in laws Ann Dineen, William Spellman, Claire and Don Benedetto and Michael Guiliano and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is Predeceased by her parents Geraldine and Everit Kittell, brother Sonny Kittell, brother in law Mick Dineen, sister in law Mary Spellman and daughter in law, Susan Keeshan. Donations can be made in her name to the Aroma Thyme Bistro’s Upcoming Christmas Day Soup Kitchen or Ulster County SPCA. An Open House to Celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held at Aroma Thyme Bistro 165 Canal Street Ellenville, NY Sunday, December 16  1-5pm.
