I am the recently retired minister at Ellenville Reformed Church in Ellenville, NY. I just now saw this notice, and my wife and I are deeply saddened and offer our condolences to her family. Many times Sylvia sat at the piano in the basement of the church and played for different events. She especially enjoyed the annual "Fashion Show" and played the "models" onto the cat walk. "Dear Heart" was her favorite moniker for anyone she was talking with, and the name always came with a note of reassurance and a smile. For the last several years her son offered Thanksgiving Dinners at his Aroma Thyme Restaurant to those who were alone or could not afford a dinner, and Sylvia promoted those dinners through the Shop. I am sure that the volunteers and customers in the Shop and Food Pantry are missing Sylvia deeply. I know that my memories of her are now touched by her passing. Rest well, Dear Heart.
