Tadashi Niiya, age 85, passed away on June 22, 2025. He was born on August 17, 1939, in Japan. Tadashi is survived by his wife Fujino Niiya, his daughter Yoshiko, his son-in-law Eric Zaretsky, three grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Akiko. Tadashi (aka Ted) loved the adventure of living abroad and had set out to live in Brazil after graduating from college in Japan. After returning to Japan for several years to start a family, he traveled to the United States for work. He settled in New Jersey to start his own business, first as a restauranteur and then a business owner of a limousine service company, which served he Japanese-American community for many years. He will be be missed. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
