Our condolences to the Bills family and to all those who knew Uthan. My family and I, sincerely regret the loss of a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Uncle, Brother and Friend. May we all strengthen our Faith and Hope in GOD'S promise to put an end to death and suffering so that we may all live when the Prophecy of Isaiah 33:24 is fulfilled.

Bills was my junior schoolmate at Happy Grove High School and my batch mate at the Mico Teachers College. He was a good friend and a principled Jehovah's Witness. He has always been a special friend. We were both from Eastern St. Thomas and we shared an interest in sports. One of my favorite memories of Bills was when we were doing a project for a class at the Mico. We had to get some pictures of fishermen from Port Morant collecting fish from their fish pots. The sea was very rough so Bills decided that he would not go on the boat. I took my life in my hands and went with the fishermen. As we were pulling away from the shore, Bills held up my sneakers and shouted, "Hey Derrick, if anything happen to you, can I have these shoes?" We kept in touch on and off over the years. Some months ago he informed me that he was going to retire from work. He also informed me of his new found love for the game of golf. We were to play together when he visited his mother in Florida a few months after that. We did not get to play and he later told me that it was because he had been ill. When I spoke to him a few weeks ago he informed me that he was undergoing treatment for, as he called it, the big C. I am sorry that I did not get to see you my friend again in this life. I am comforted by the fact that he was very strong in his faith; and I am confident that he will live again on the new earth. My condolences to his brother my former schoolmate Valdo, Uthan's wife, mother, other brothers and sisters, grandchildren and friends who will certainly miss him. Go with JAH Sighta. Thanks for the memories.
