William J. Hartmann

March 18, 1924 — May 8, 2018

William Joseph Hartmann Sr., on 8 May 2018, at 94 years old, was called by God to complete his life's journey on earth and join Him in The Kingdom of Heaven. He was a noble man of faith, a loving father of eight children and a devoted husband to Mary who he will now be reunited with in God's house of Angels. A lifelong resident of Bergenfield, NJ before retiring to Toms River, NJ, Bill a veteran of WWII led his life as an honest, caring and stoic individual who provided comfort, friendship, security and authority over his family. He is affectionately remembered as "the Boss", an individual easily attracted to and respected for how he carried himself, guided by faith and driven to living his life on his terms. His impact on the world is immeasurable by those who love him. We celebrate his life, we thank him for the opportunity he provided us to share in his 94 years of humor, dreams, adventures and love of family. Bill is survived by his eight children; Mary Ann and Tony Infantolino; Steven and Patricia Hartmann; Kathleen and Kevin Kelly; Nancy and Rick Clayton; William Jr. and Robin Hartmann; Kevin Hartmann; Michael and Kathy Hartmann; Brian and Illiam Hartmann. Bill is survived by his grand-children; Thomas and James Furlong; Anthony and Lisa Infantolino; Elizabeth, Catherine, and Matthew Hartmann; Shannon Cashion and Meagan Frye; Kyle, Morgan, and Royce Clayton; William, Michelle, and Aaron Hartmann and Scott Morton; Tabitha, Kevin, and Robert Hartmann; Sean and Ryan Hartmann; Richard, Alyssa, and Joseph Hartmann. Bill is survived by his great grandchildren; Thomas and Sean Furlong; AJ and Rocco Infantolino; Nolan and Raegan Cashion; Noble Clayton; Shyanne and Mackinlee Clayton; Brandon Garcia-Hartmann; Aryanna Hartmann; Ayden Morton; Isaiah and Maya Hartmann; and Savannah Hartmann. Bill is survived by his sisters: Frieda Heimowitz, Clara Tesori and, Amy Adams. Bill is survived by many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by: His parents William and Ana Hartmann and sister Mary Hirshman. In lieu of flowers donations to the St Jude's charity for children is greatly appreciated. There will be a viewing at Riewerts Memorial Home Bergenfield, NJ, on Monday, May 14th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. There will be a Funeral Mass 10 AM on Tuesday May 15th at St. Therese's Church in Cresskill, NJ. Burial will be at George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
