William A. Janssens
Beloved Son of the late William C. and Barbara (nee Sleboda). Brother of Susan and dear nephew of Joan Ferrante (nee Sleboda). He also leaves his memory to many cousins. Billy was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and enjoyed his blessed family there.
Billy was a proud graduate of Bergenfield High School and went on to graduate from RETS Electronic School. He spent much of his time as an avid swimmer, both at the YMCA and at his grandfather's cherished lake house in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. He would delight in the pleasures of the sun on his face and the water beneath as he swam the length of the lake back and forth. It wouldn't be long after to see him taking his kayak out on the water.
Despite Billy's physical limitations, his fierce independence and pursuit of his own desires was an inspiration to everyone around him. He lived a more active lifestyle than most and was happiest when engaging in those hobbies. Billy's life was truly remarkable in that he was determined to persevere through any hardship that came his way. His inconceivable strength of will carried him through the tough times and brought him the countless cheerful memories he held dear to him.
William A. Janssens was as brave, strong, and genuinely caring as they come and that is how he will be remembered by those lucky enough to have known him.
He will be remembered for his quote "I gave it my best shot"
