Eleanor Senzamici (nee Koch), 85, passed away peacefully, January 21, 2021. Born on November 30, 1935, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late August and Anna (Motzer) Koch and the sister of the late George Koch. Upon graduation from William Cullen Bryant High School in 1953, Eleanor worked for Bell Labs and vacationed with friends at Belmar during the summers. In 1962, she made a special three-month trip with her cousin and dear friend, Helga, to Germany. Upon return to the US, she obtained a job with British Airways. Together, they raised two sons, Anthony and Mark, took family vacations and enjoyed neighborhood block parties. She worked as a secretary for the Tenafly Board of Education until 1998.
During her retirement, Eleanor spent time with family, traveled frequently and remained engaged in her community. Eleanor was a devoted grandmother to Kevin, Luke and Connor. She was a faithful member of Church of the Good Shepherd, and she participated in Saint John’s Golden Age Club and Sharing and Learning Together. Eleanor and Tony took over 20 cruises to the Caribbean, and she vacationed with her family in Long Beach Island. Eleanor enjoyed getting together with friends and family, reading and cooking. She will be remembered for her wit and her wisdom.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Tony; their children; Anthony Senzamici, his wife, Maureen and their sons, Kevin, Luke and Connor, all of New Milford; Mark Senzamici of Hoboken, a sister-in-law Christel Koch of Ballston Spa, NY, a nephew, Michael Koch and a niece, Stephanie Senatore.
